In April 2014, I was part of a group of 60 artists from 22 countries who were invited to the yearly event Barcelona International Dance Exchange at el Graner, Barcelona. Over a period of five days, we worked "horizontally' with one another to creatively exchange our practice through making, creating and performing together. Each day, various laboratories were facilitated or co-facilitated by BIDE participants and the themes or interests ranged between Butoh, site-specific work, Contact Improvisation, dance/music collaboration, creative writing, documentation/scoring, dance for film, size/scale and impact, "dead bodies" and performance fears. There was also a public performance at el Graner where we had a massive dance party with the audience as well as shared our creations from the first three days.
